The department's A Platoon had to use the Jaws Of Life to free the driver of a car that was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The accident occurred on the morning of July 21st. Willingboro Fire and EMS units, along with Delran EMS, and Virtua Hospital Paramedics were called to the intersection of Beverly-Rancocas Road and Midvale Lane at 7:51 am. The Burlington County 911 Center received numerous calls reporting a two car accident, with one person trapped.

Engine 1613 was nearby at the township's fuel yard, and arrived in three minutes. Lieutenant Friddell reported two vehicles were involved in the accident, and that one driver was trapped. Firefighters Rydarowski, Robertson, and Centrone started to stabilize the car with the trapped driver, and prepare the Jaws Of Life for the rescue. Rescue 1619 arrived on scene moments later, at which time Firefighter Riley entered the car with the trapped driver, to assess the injuries, and keep the driver calm. Firefighter Priest proceeded to the second vehicle that was involved in the accident to check for injuries.

Firefighters Rydarowski and Centrone used hydraulic spreaders and cutters to remove two doors. The then used two sets of cutters to remove the post that is between the front and rear door. Due to the quick work of the crews, EMS personnel were able to fully access the driver in nine minutes. There were no injuries to the occupants of the second vehicle.

Both units were on scene until the all debris was cleaned up, and the vehicles were towed from the roadway. All units were clear at 8:42 am.
