Willingboro firefighters were called to neighboring Westampton Township for a building fire on December 16th. At 8:33 am firefighters from Westampton were dispatched to 475 Woodlane Road for a building fire. Units from Willingboro, Mount Laurel, Burlington Township, and Mount Holly were also called to the incident. Westampton Deputy Chief 2701 arrived on location and found a two-bay automotive shop with black smoke coming from around the garage doors.

Westampton Engine 2723 connected to a nearby fire hydrant and proceeded into the scene. Willingboro Engine 1612 was directed into the parking lot of the business and the crew was ordered to enter the building with a hose line. Captain Gardner, Lieutenant Friddell, and Firefighter D. O'Donnell entered the building with a 2" hose line and hand tools. Engine 2723 connected the hose line from the hydrant to Engine 1612 to establish a water supply. 2723's crew then entered the building with a 1 3/4" hose line to assist the crew from Willingboro.

Mount Laurel Quint 3614 arrived on scene and put their ladder to the roof of the building in case the fire broke through the roof. Burlington Township Squirt 3014 arrived on scene and stood by on the exterior of the building with the crew from Mount Laurel. The crews that were working inside found a vehicle on fire and quickly extinguished the fire. Crews also opened the garage doors in an effort to remove the heavy black smoke from the building. Westampton Chief 2700 was on scene and placed the fire under control at 8:50 am.

The business was not open at the time of the fire. No firefighters were injured while battling the fire. An investigation was being conducted by Westampton Fire and Police personnel. Engine 1612 was back in station at 9:45 am.
